Congratulations to Prof. Chandramouli Subramaniam (L), Prof. Jyoti Seth (M), and Prof. Rohit Srivastava (R), members of our affiliated faculty, for being chosen for the Biotechnology Ignition funding (BIG) in its 22nd round. BIG is BIRAC's flagship and India's most prominent early-stage biotech investment initiative.
Under Prof. Subramaniam's direction, Team Surya Shakti won the grant for their proposal titled 'Green-heat generation for a sustainable approach to the water-energy nexus.' They had also just recently triumphed in the Carbon-zero Challenge 3.0.
In this round, Prof. Srivastava's team won two BIG grants for their proposals, namely 'GlyASens: A handheld IoT enabled low-cost device for monitoring glycated albumin' and 'Male infertility: a low-cost sperm count immunodiagnostic test along with a hydrogel formulation aiming enhanced sperm hyperactivation and capacitation.'
Prof. Seth's research proposal selected for the BIG grant, 'FlowTechPharma,' aims to develop a lab-scale prototype to implement a continuous manufacturing technology for semi-solid drugs using a quality-by-design approach.
We wish you the best for your team's startup endeavors!
