WRCB at IITB had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Umut A. Gurkan and his postdoc Rucha Natu, Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Several interesting discussions took place between Prof. Gurkan and IITB faculty on various topics of mutual interest such as microfluidics and point-of-care diagnostics for blood disorders and cancer. 

In addition to being a Wilbert J. Austin Professor of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, Prof. Gurkan is also a co-founder of four companies based on research and intellectual property developed at his lab. He was very pleased to see the thriving start-up and translational ecosystem at IIT Bombay. We look forward to multiple collaborations between IITB researchers and Prof. Gurkan's group at Case Western Reserve University.
