We are delighted to share that Prof. Siddharth Tallur has won the joint Department of Science and Technology (DST) and India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnership to Accelerate Community Transformation (ICIMPACTS), Canada grant 2022. The selected project, ‘Reconfigurable platform for rapid autonomous quantification of pathogens in wastewater using PCB electrode-based assays,’ will significantly impact wastewater-based epidemiology. The winning project has also received a WRCB grant under its 9th call for proposals in 2022.
Prof. Tallur is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay, and a core committee member of WRCB. His research group works on several interdisciplinary projects, touching on various aspects of electronic system design, with allied interests in sensor design, MEMS, and photonics.
His projects namely, ‘Nano-carbon based sensor for early cardiac risk assessment’ and ‘Colorimetric detection of nucleic acid and other biological analytes’ that were funded by WRCB have a huge impact in the area of affordable healthcare.
