We are happy to announce that Prof. Shobhna Kapoor, of the Chemistry Department at IIT Bombay, has won the Merck Young Scientist award in the Chemical Sciences category. Merck, a well-known scientific and technological company, announced the winners of the Merck Young Scientist Award 2023, Season 3, to recognize young scientists in India. The annual awards celebrated the achievements of young scientists whose ground-breaking work in the life sciences is enhancing the quality of life for millions of Indians. 

Prof. Kapoor is a long-time associated faculty of WRCB and has received multiple grants from us for her projects 'Towards Molecularly Complete Membrane Scaffolds For "Cell-Free" Drug Screening In Tuberculosis' and 'Design and Development of highly deformable and elastic 3D scaffolds for cell growth and proliferation under high compressive loads'.
