We are delighted to share that Prof. Jyoti Seth and her team have been awarded the Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) grant. The research proposal selected for the BIG-22 grant, 'FlowTechPharma,' was also the recipient of the WRCB grant in 2022. 

Through this work, they aim to develop a lab-scale prototype to implement a continuous manufacturing technology for semi-solid drugs using a quality-by-design approach. The prototype will be able to deliver finer control over the process while reducing the process times, energy and utility demand, and batch-to-batch variation. 

BIG, BIRAC's flagship initiative, is India's largest early-stage biotech investment initiative. BIG gives new entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial people the proper blend of assistance and funding. The grantees receive up to INR 5 million (about USD 70,000) in funding to take their inventive ideas to proof-of-concept.

Prof. Seth is an Associate Professor at the Dept of Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay. Her research group studies the impact of interfacial forces on the behavior of complex fluids that are crucial for industrial processes and products.
