We are pleased to share that Prof. Debabrata Maiti is the new editor-in-chief of the Thieme Chemistry journal, SYNLETT, starting January 2024. SYNLETT is an international peer-reviewed journal that has published brief, customized reviews and preliminary statements on research findings and current trends in chemical synthesis since 1989. 

Prof. Maiti will be the first Editor-in-Chief from India in the history of Thieme Chemistry journals.  He is a professor at the Department of Chemistry and has been associated with WRCB since 2022. WRCB has funded his projects ‘Biocatalysis towards industry scale synthesis of isoindolone drug derivatives’ and ‘Evolution of Artificial metalloenzymes for the Chemo-photo-enzymatic asymmetric synthesis of Indolone-based drug’ during the past calls for proposal. He also received the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2022.
