On August 20th, 2024, the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, awarded the prestigious National Geoscience Award - 2023 to Prof. Vikram Vishal for his outstanding work in Applied Geology. The ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan and recognized Prof. Vishal’s pioneering contributions to reservoir geomechanics, geological carbon dioxide sequestration, and unconventional petroleum systems.

An esteemed alumnus of IIT Bombay, Prof. Vishal is a two-time Fulbright Award recipient and a three-time National Award winner. His deep expertise in carbon dioxide capture and storage is instrumental in shaping India’s climate mitigation strategies and efforts.
