The award was introduced in 2001 to recognize the best technology developed by a team from IIT Bombay. She won the award for her technology innovation named ShapeDx, which is a high-accuracy, point-of-care sickle cell test. She and her team of researchers developed this point-of-care test that can distinguish between Sickle Cell Disease & Sickle Cell Trait. We are extremely proud that the award-winning technology was funded by WRCB. She is a professor at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering and PI of the Microfluidics and Biological Physics Group at IIT Bombay.
